About the app
Eject Water Now plays tones through your iPhone's speaker or earpiece. The sound makes the speaker move, and that movement can push water out through the speaker grille.
Using the modes
How do I use Speaker mode?
Speaker cleans the bottom speaker and runs for about 75 seconds. Pick Speaker on the home screen, hold the phone with the speaker facing down, and tap Eject. Keep the phone away from your ear while it plays. When the run ends, you can play a short sound check to hear whether it sounds clear.
How do I use Earpiece mode, and why do I flip the phone?
Earpiece cleans the top speaker, the one you hold to your ear, and runs for about 45 seconds. The earpiece is at the top, so the app asks you to flip your phone over and point it down so the water can fall out. Pick Earpiece and tap Eject, then turn the phone upside down. Once the app sees the phone is turned over, it starts in 3 seconds. Hold it there until the run ends. You can also tap Start now to skip the wait. Earpiece mode needs the sound to come from the phone itself, so unplug headphones first.
What is Deep clean for?
Deep clean uses longer, lower sweeps for stubborn water and runs for about 90 seconds. Pick Deep clean, hold the phone with the speaker facing down, and tap Eject. If the sound is still muffled after a regular run, try Deep clean or run again.
How loud should my volume be?
Turn the volume all the way up. The sound needs to be loud to move the speaker. If your volume is not full when you start, the app asks you to press the volume up button on the side of the phone until it is.
Does the silent switch matter?
No. The silent switch does not matter here. The app plays sound either way.
Does the app dry my phone or fix water damage?
No. It does not dry the inside of your phone, and it cannot repair a speaker or a phone that is already damaged. Some water may stay inside. Let your phone dry fully before you charge it. If it still sounds muffled or does not work normally, contact Apple or an authorized repair provider.
Quick start
How do I start a run with Siri?
Say "Eject Water" to Siri. The app opens and starts a Speaker run. You can also say "Eject Water Now".
How do I set up the Action button?
The Action button is on iPhone 15 Pro and later models. In the app, tap the Settings gear at the top right, then under Quick start tap Action button and follow the steps. In short: open the iPhone Settings app, tap Action Button, swipe to Shortcut, then pick Eject Water.
How do I add Eject Water to Control Center?
Control Center controls need iOS 18 or later. Swipe down from the top right corner of your screen, tap + in the top left, then tap Add a Control. Search Eject Water Now and tap it. The same steps are in the app under Settings, Quick start, Control Center.
Purchases
How do I restore my purchase?
Open the app, tap the Settings gear at the top right, and tap Restore purchases in the Purchase section. Make sure you are signed in with the same Apple ID you used to buy.
How do I cancel my subscription?
Subscriptions are handled by Apple, so you cancel them in your iPhone settings, not in the app. Open the Settings app, tap your name at the top (your Apple ID), then tap Subscriptions. Pick Eject Water Now and tap Cancel Subscription. Cancel at least 24 hours before the current period ends. You keep access until the end of the period you paid for.
